All homes, including units, townhouses, and flats constructed after 1 August 1997 are required by law to have a 240-volt mains-powered smoke alarm system with a backup battery fitted. If your home was built before this date, you are required to have 9-volt battery-powered smoke alarms as a minimum.
Nordic can provide Hardwired or 240V smoke alarms, which are also referred to as mains powered smoke alarms. We handle the installation of this alarm, which is connected to your home's mains power supply. The smoke detector also has a backup battery for use during a power failure.
The use of photoelectric smoke alarms are recommended over ionisation alarms. Photoelectric alarms respond faster and are less prone to cause false alarms.
